Yes – Woolwich Guernsey is a branch of Barclays Private Clients International Limited, which has its head office in the Isle of Man and is ultimately wholly owned by Barclays Bank PLC. The Barclays Group is one of the world’s largest international banking groups with offices in more than 60 countries and has been involved in banking for over 300 years. There is no compensation scheme in Guernsey covering deposits. Deposits are not covered by the United Kingdom Financial Services Compensation Scheme under the Financial Service and Markets Act 2000.
